Sustainability is at the core of all we do at DHH.
When used responsibly, we believe that wood is by far the most eco-friendly building material on the planet – and that sustainable wood production must play a key role when building for the future.
Wood has a lighter carbon footprint than both steel and concrete – and still continues to absorb and store CO2 from the atmosphere even after felling. As one of the only renewable building materials available worldwide that’s also biodegradable, wood is an effective alternative to other construction materials.
DHH Panel Products holds a chain of custody (Cert. CU-CoC-805619) with the Forestry Stewardship Council® and offers FSC® certified products upon request across most ranges. Over 80% of our product portfolio holds FSC certification, and it’s one of the main ways that we can proactively support the use of responsible forestry around the world.
Our ‘Chain of Custody’ helps us guarantee that the wood we use comes from responsibly-sourced ‘FSC-approved’ forests. As the wood products passes from the forest, to the sawmill, onto a manufacturer and then onto us; this chain of custody remains intact and allows us to confidently know where the wood in our products comes from.
For more information about the Forestry Stewardship Council, please visit www.fsc.org. To view the FSC certificates of all of our participating manufacturers and suppliers, please visit our Downloads Centre.
We also hold a chain of custody (Cert. CU-PEFC-COC-805619) with the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification and offer PEFC certified products across our ranges too.
Similar to above, this chain of custody allows us to confidently purchase wood that has came from a sustainably-managed forest; and allows us to see the journey that the wood has made to reach us and our customers.

We’re additionally members of the TDUK; who are the independent supply chain body for timber products in the UK; and subscribe to their Responsible Purchasing Policy (RRP). This policy helps us to actively avoid suppliers and manufacturers that could be engaging in illegal or unsustainable forestry – and gives us a mechanism to identify, access and report companies that may be involved in global forestry in either a harmful or unethical way.

Alongside our professional accreditations and memberships, we also use some of our profits to support grassroot sports clubs across Essex. We currently sponsor both Rayleigh Cricket Club and Westcliff Rugby Club; both of which were nominated and chosen by our employees.
By championing grassroots sports, we help to secure the green spaces that exist within the local community – these are the parks and playing fields that allow people to reconnect with nature, participate in sport, and pursue a healthy life. These spaces help communities grow.
We’re also proud to support New Life Wood, a registered charity that provides local employment opportunities via their community wood recycling project in Basildon, Essex. The charity has volunteers that collect, recycle and repurpose timber that would have otherwise gone to landfill.
